It was “Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory” seen at Radio City Music Hall that first introduced Terry Nelson to the wonders of the big screen. That experience alone became his golden ticket.
“Everything was larger than life. … That did it for me,” says Nelson, who’s worked in film production and post-production since 1989.
Some four years ago, after relocating from Manhattan to Beacon, Nelson made an offhand comment to his wife that their new city could benefit from a film festival. That thought lay dormant while Nelson nurtured his new business as a freelance video editor and established ties in the community.
